Well I have eventually begun Learning 2.0 - better late than never.Now I just have to be disciplined and keep doing a little every day and not let it become such a chore.It should be fun after all as well as a learning experience!
I do want and need to finish before July so I can say I have achieved Learning 2.0 within the specified timeframe. Also keeping in mind that I wrote in my recent one-on-one that I would complete before the end of June!!

Delicious & Technorati

Well even though I have looked at both of the above I still don't know whether they are sites I would use on a regular basis. I can see how Delicious could be very useful for someone wanting to have all their bookmarked sites under one heading and Technorati for keeping track of other blogs and when there are new postings added to them. Essentially very useful for people who are keen to keep up with the latest comngs and goings!

5.1 & 2 Wiki

Now, I know exactly what a wiki is and how useful they can be. I especially like the St.Joseph County Library's wiki as it would be so useful for borrowers as a source of further information for a myriad of topics. For instance under the Homeschooling heading there several websites listed as well as other sources of other information. I also found the Booklovers website worth a look

Played in the sandbox and put in my favourite travel destinations - Italy, Greece, New York and Sicily!

Technology challenged

I am no expert on the computer so this whole exercise has been one huge learning curve and so time-consuming. I have enjoyed Week 4 as it has introduced me to Flickr and other associated sites.Flickr has so many possibilities if you are needing images of any type, hence my Yorkshire Moors slideshow.

This was fun to do. It would be quite useful for display ideas in the library,
so I will keep it in mind.As you can see from the wordle I am a cat lover.

kids lit

You will find here some kid lit sites I poached from Google. This exercise wasn't user-friendly and I found it very similar to RSS feeds. We tried several times to transfer the website addresses from Rollyo to my blog and eventually succeeded. Great now I've actually finished week 3

My favourite reads
These are some of the books I have enjoyed reading over the last few weeks. My favourite was 'A Thousand Splendid Suns', not quite as good as 'The Kite Runner' but a very gripping read which was hard to put down. The 'Uncommon Reader' was also very interesting. It is Alan Bennett's take on the Queen as a 'reader' - quite humourous and a quick read!

Now after having some expert tuition I am feeling much more au fait with RSS feeds and bloglines,but i still need lots of practice!

In the beginning

It is now the beginning of the third week and I haven't managed to find time to do the second week.There always seems to be something else to occupy my time with especially as it is the school holidays.
Hopefully I will have time sometime later this week!

Setting up my blog

This hasn't been the easiest thing I have done, quite challenging for someone who isn't too computer literate. But now I am finding it quite addictive and want to try and do more. Hopefully I will be able to customize my template tomorrow.
